سورۀ تحریم گناهکاران را به توبه نصوح (توبه نصوح: عبارت است از پشیمانی قلبی از گناهان گذشته، آمرزش‌خواهی به زبان، ترک ارتکاب گناه با اعضای بدن و عزم و تصمیم بر این امر که دیگر هرگز در آینده به گناه باز نگردد.) تشویق وترغیب نموده و همچنان از آثار آیمان در روز قیات بحث به عمل آورده است.این سوره مسلمانان را به جهاد با کفار ومنافقان وسخت گیری بر آنان فرامی خواند. در این سوره از همسر نوح واز همسر لوط به عنوان زنان ناصالح واز آسیه زن فرعون وحضرت مریم به عنوان زنان صالح نام برده شده است. همچنان آیۀ ششم سورۀ تحریم مبنی بر فراخواندن مؤمنان به حفظ خود و خانواده خود از آتش جهنم، از آیات مشهوراین سوره است.
