The contributors have covered a wide variety of sensors from a diverse array of remote sensing platforms (Landsat TM and ETM+, MODIS, IRS-LISS, and Hyperspectral) and discussed new approaches to image processing and algorithm development. In addition, a glimpse into the future challenges of environmental applications of remote sensing will offer food for thought for all. The editors have skillfully presented this detailed and technical content in a user-friendly and coherent format. I am confident that the readers of this book will quickly appreciate the rapid advancements being made in this field.
